No 7 Cleansing Water

 No 7 Cleansing water - RRP £9.00

I am a big fan of the "Micellar" type waters that are becoming increasingly available on the high street. The most popular being Bio Derma - which I have tried, however due to it being difficult (but not impossible) to find in the UK, I am always on the look out for alternatives. I will often use and have repurchased many a time, the L'Oreal Paris skin perfection 3 in 1 purifying Micellar solution (what a mouthful!), which was good, but didn't really cut it when taking off eye makeup. Since I've started working at Boots (yay!) I have been very interested in the No 7 range, mainly skincare but the makeup is brilliant too. My mum has been using No 7 for years and I did often "borrow" bits off her, but I have never really bought any of it - until now. I am now addicted, and there are LOTS of gems in the skincare range that are really affordable and excellent quality.

I have used this cleansing water (RRP £9.00) for a few months now, and I have to say it is great. Firstly, it smells deliciously fresh which is a good starter for someone with a sensitive nose like me. I will generally take my makeup off with a No 7 beautiful skin cleansing wipe, then use this on an oval shaped cotton pad. It comes with a pump, which at first I thought was very odd with it being a "water" - however it is excellent and doesn't allow you to use too much, as you definitely don't need a lot. It takes off makeup excellently, and leaves my skin feeling extra extra soft and surprisingly plumped. I've found with other alternatives I feel the need to wash my face afterwards due to a slight "film" feeling, however with this I do not need to. (Although I do, I will generally use another cleanser - balm or hot cloth - after this and before my serum and moisturiser). It really unclogs pores and leaves the skin feeling fresh and cleansed. It is aimed at normal/oily skin - mine is normal if not a tiny bit dry, and it works beautifully.

This is a gem and such a bargain if you use one of the No 7 £5.00 off vouchers that boots will often hand out (I will make another No 7 post and let you know when they come back out, seeing as I work there I should be helpful! ;).

What do you think of the "micellar water" trend? Have you tried this or any products by No 7?

Rose & Co

Hey guys, sorry for the MIA'ness, I've moved to university and it was all a bit hectic. I'm obviously all settled in now, and can't wait to start blogging properly!

I've recently been loving indulging myself with thick body butters and lots of lotions and potions on my skin. I've been opting for the body butter over normal moisturisers as I find my skin gets quite dry and dehydrated in the winter months, and I love trying new ones. I'm going to take a trip to lush soon so will keep you updated on my new found skin care obsession!

A body butter I've been loving is "Rose & Co" Rose and Patchouli body butter. (www.rose-apothecary.co.uk)

RRP - £10.00

This product is described as "A rich aromatic body butter containing natural oils and butters to soothe and nourish dry skin." and i would definitely agree with that statement. It's a very rich and thick luxurious butter that instantly feels like it's doing your skin some "good". At first I wasn't too keen on the scent, however now I absolutely adore it. If you like rose scented things, you definitely won't be dissappointed with this lovely product. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and gives a sort of "vintage" feel to it. This product is definitely worth it's weight in gold and it has doen wonders for my skin, which now feels 110% softer and much more supple.

For £10.00 you get 130g of delicious body butter, and this has lasted me well over a month of use 4 times a week - you don't need a lot of product for beautifully soft skin.

Have you been opting for the thicker Body butters recently? Have you tried this product?

17 "Miracle Matte foundation"

RRP: £4.99, Boots.

Being a huge foundation junky, I went into boots to look for my next hit. After searching the aisles i didn't see any that caught my eye or that I hadn't already tried, untill i saw the little blue "new" sticker on this product. I am a sucker for matte foundations, and i try and avoid the "dewy" look unless it is summer, and seeing as I can't see the weather being summery in the UK for a few more months, I purchased this.

Advertised as a "matte satin flawless finish", I was eager to try it and I wasn't disappointed exactly. This foundation is quite thick, and although it says it's full coverage, I'd say it's medium/buildable. With a thin layer you can still see your skin/freckles, however with more, it is definitely a full coverage foundation. Despite being thick, the foundation glides onto the skin well and doesn't have any scent, which I love. I have normal skin, I have about 2 spots a year (touch wood), but i have to substitute these with a few dry patches around my chin/forehead - although they are not severe dry patches, this foundation tended to cling a little bit to them, however not as bad as some I have tried. It has "shine control", and SPF 15, and I would definitely say it lasts all day, without having to top up. I absolutely LOVE the packaging, pink and girly, however it does look slightly cheap with the fonts, but nothing unbearable. It is priced at £4.99 from boots and I would 100% reccommend this foundation to anyone who doesn't have severe dry patches on their face.

Have you tried this foundation? What do you think of matte foundations?

Chanel Paris: Coco Mademoiselle velvet body oil and foaming shower gel

Velvet body oil - RRP £35
Foaming shower gel - RRP £31
both are 6.8 fl oz.

Chanel products always seem to amaze me.. I frequently browse their website for hours and seeing as i'd already bought the perfume i thought i'd try a few more of their Coco Mademoiselle products. To me £31 is very exsessive for a shower gel, however I knew I loved the smell and thought why not. The shower gel as you can see in the picture has very little product left in it, which is a true reflection of how much I use it! - I got both these products at the end of January, and now in April I have over halff the body oil (as you only need a tiny spray), and almost finished the shower gel (which i think is reasonable seeing as I have used it almost every day since I purchased.) They both leave your skin smelling amazing, and both are extremely hydrating and moisturising. I would hughly reccomend any Chanel products (I am an extreme Chanel junkie - I am avidly eyeing up the Soleil Tan De Chanel which i cannot believe i do not own yet!), and even though they are expensive I truley believe they are worth it if you are after a nmore luxury product. They would make an excellent present for an older lady, as body oils I think are more aimed towards the more mature lady (not to say i do not use them at 18 years of age!!)
